SUB 5 bridge

I'm new here and have read through some of the threads. I appreciate the knowledge base and bass knowledge that I've found here.

I recently purchased a SUB 5 and my question is about the bridge. There isn't enough room for the B string saddle to sit straight. This make the string kind of lodge over the top of the saddle instead of seating nicely into the groove. The intonation seems to be good. I was wondering if they used an inferior bridge for the SUB 5 or if I should change the string length to get it behind the side bolt. Like I said, the intonation is good so I'm not sure I really want to screw with it too much.

Do the bridges for the other EBMM 5 strings have the same issue?

It isn't uncommon for the anchor holes in the bridge to not line up with the grooves in the saddles on any bridge. That's why there is a groove in the saddle. If your string is at the correct tension, then you shouldn't have any problems with it not staying in the groove...unless you're Flea...

What gauge and string make are you using? Pics would help. I think I read somewhere that the bridge on the SUBs is the same as on the standard models, except the Music Man name is not on it.

I don't really understand the question, but the saddles on the sub bridge should be the same as on any other new EBMM.
The groove in the B string saddle is the same as on all the other saddles, which maybe makes it look strange to you? A pic would help.

I figured out the problem. The previous owner had the saddle for the B string upside down which caused the groove to be closer to the E string. That resulted in the spring being pulled too far away from the E string as well as the saddle being unable to line up with the others. The string wasn't even close to the groove. Anyway, got it fixed.

Up until today, I always thought that the Knuckleheads were wrong about bass players and tools. In fact, there have been several instances where I was going to call you guys on it. As painful as it may be, I have to admit that you might just have a point, though I certainly don't think I'd make a blanket statement about that.
