I read in this forum that SUB-4 pickguards and Stingray 4 string pickguards are the same but the pickguards for the SUB-5 and Stingray 5's very greatly, because the Stingray's pickguard swoops down into the controls.

Do the SUB-4/Stingray pickguards fit the SUB-5? Is the pick-up larger because it has to have 5 sensors, or do the squeeze all 5 into the same space as the 4?

I was looking at an eBay auction and found a guy selling Stingray Pickguards, but he says in the listing they don't fit SUBs, but I can't see the any difference.

I think what you read before was accurate.

I think what he's telling you is right. (And he used to work for Ernie Ball.)
