So, I've had this SUB 5 for enough time to get used to it, intonate it, adjust it, change the pickguard, etc...
The thing sounds and plays amazing--especially considering the lower price point. Couple of technical questions:
Is the two-band active electronics in the SUB 5 the same as the two-band Stingray option on regular 'Rays?
Is the pickup the standard ceramic-magnet SR5 pickup? (The answer is NO, dolt! No switching or dummy coil)... Let me rephrase that: Is the SUB 5 pickup ceramic or ALNICO (I'm sure some of you have popped the hood)?
I'm a "talking shop" kinda guy, and I like to know what I'm playing. Some of us just say, "If it sounds and plays well, I don't care what's under the hood"; sadly, I'm an under the hood type--I just gotta know. Inquiring minds and all...
