Hey I have an active SUB bass and I am having some sort of problem with the pre-amp. The levels are extremely low coming from the bass it doesn't matter if I use it as an active or passive bass. I've tried changing the batteries and checking the basic connections. Everything seems to be fine but when I play through my amp I need to turn the amp all the way up to 7-8 and the bass' volume is all the way up. With the sub at these levels compared to my stingray, the stingray is about twice as loud at 3. Also the pre-amp seems to have little to no effect on the sound. Does anyone have any idea as to what this could be? If you could let me know or point me to a related thread I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Maybe someone who has had the same problem can help, but the usual response to problems with an instrument is to contact the folks at Ernie Ball directly. Click the Contact link on the home page. They have a GREAT reputation for helping to solve problems like yours.

And welcome from another newb!

your pickup isnt too low is it? check and see if raising your pickup a tad helps the volume issue.

DOnt change your pick up height talk to CS....

The only reason I suggested it was because someone couldve lowered it, and thus, raising it to the correct height might fix things. That of course assumes he knows what height it should be at.

Oh well, just trying to help

BP, speaking of, is there any reason why on my SR5 HH the neck pickup is so low that I need to pair it with the bridge pickup to get any decent volume?n I raised it a tad and its all good now, but Im just curious as I figured these basses were set up from the factory. Either way, great product man, good lord I look sexy in Martini Olive green (and so does the bass!)
