hey there, i really want the stingray, it just sounds like the best bass on earth for my style, but its sooo expensive. i came across the "SUB" or whatever. its only like 700 dollars instead of MORE THAN 1000 dollars. im really tight on money, how close are these 2 basses, does the SUB even compare to the stingray? thanks, later

I dig the sound of passives. I'm sure you can't go wrong with the SUB. I own a Sterling and would suggest you test drive one of them before you get a Stingray. I'm sure I'll get a bunch of hate mail over that statement but I really enjoy the options of the Sterling.

Why spend 700 on a sub when you can get a nice used Stingray on Ebay? I bought mine for 650.00 and freaking love it!!

Definitely try before you buy but the active SUB 4 is a good bass for a great price and hey, it's gonna be getting you gigs and cash so as you're earning cash with your SUB save up and buy the stinray/sterling when you've got the money. But the SUBs are very solid basses for the price.

cheers
