Congrats Tom...that's a wonderful guitar :)

The choice of PUs depends on which way you want to go (brilliant answer, right?!) The good news is, that the SUB has a poplar body, that is extremely resonant, and it will work with many different options brilliantly.

Just give us an idea what kind of sound you wish to achieve...and very soon some really useful hints will appear here :)

Okay, I'll be killed, but I'd recommend the Duncan TB-10 Full Shred then...brilliant PU, not only for shredding. Extremely defined tone!

Obvious choice of DiMarzios in a Poplar EBMM would be the Steve Morse set (DP200/DP205).

I went for the established D Sonic/Air Norton JP combo; that also works very well.

You know I kid about Jamie. I’m a huge fan and any recommendation from him is gold.

Be patient and wait for his advice. If I had access to Jamie, I’d wait.

One of my favourite vids is from Strings & Things with Jamie demoing a red Axis.

Jamie posts here; many quality vids:

Loved the J Project album, really great. The Nashville Song and Ceremony are awesome tracks.

Pickups; i'd love to hear a DiMarzio Crunch Lab in the Sub, detuned a few notches.
