You're right, friends don't let friends restore cars - it takes too long, costs too much money, and you only gain the satisfaction of completing a project.

Agree 100% Just finishing up on our second Z-car, this one is a 1978 Datsun 280Z only to turn right around and sell it. Way to much guitar money wasted on these things. Bought the wife a 2008 convertible and ain't never gonna get caught up in this restore thing again!

It's amazing that after seeing so many pictures of these guitars, there are some whose tops readily identify them. This is one of them. When I saw it, I thought, "Oh! THAT guitar!"

What's the story with that photo. Did you take that picture? I believe that was the boat used in the movie, The Great Outdoors w/John Candy and Dan Aykroyd. Very good movie if you haven't seen it.

That's the same boat ... It's not my photo- I went looking for it on a Google search to go nicely with the thread.

Great movie- seen it a bunch of times. Neat story- my uncle went to high school with Danny (Aykroyd) and knows the SCTV/early SNL gang.
