Just started saving 25% of my disposable income for a SR4 HH. That means by next August I'll be able to go to Bass Northwest and get whatever Sitingray happens to be there, as long as it's HH. That's a long wait through a long Seattle overcast winter, a wet spring and most of the next summer.

I did clear it with my wife.:D

I've had to train myself to release the GAS ;) and not go OCD over the whole thing.

Just thought y'all should know. The countdown begins.

You know what you should do?

Go on the build an instrument page, find your perfect combination of frettboard/color/pickguard/pickup options. And then place an order with your favorite EBMM dealer. There is a 6-8 month production delay. So by the time you finish saving up, your own custom Stingray will have arrived exactly how you want it, and no ones greasy paws will have touched your new precious.

After saving for almost a year, you'll deserve the exact model you want!

Just my 2 cents.

That would definitely ensure that you actually do save the money! :)

It's a good idea to save the money and buy it. So many people charge non essential things these days and get caught up in debt.

Oh! Henry that's a great idea I guess I should have thought of that after reading erveryone's posts about the wait time. If I do order it I think they'll maybe want to charge me right off the bat instead of when it arrives... depending on the dealer?

I guess it depends on your dealer, but most of the time, they take a 10-20% deposit, and let you pay the balance when it arrives. That's what I did with the last Stingray, he even held it a little while for me so that I could finish putting my money together.

In the mean time find other things to take your mind off it, otherwise it'll be a long wait! Maybe try the "Luge" this winter ;)

Yeah it took me all summer just to put aside $250... but it forces you to think creatively ($3.50 mocha? I can dumb it down to a $1.50 con panna...). I guess I'll have to focus on music for once to keep my mind off it!
