I am in LA for work and stopped off at GC this afternoon to check out this bass. It is desperately in need of some TLC, mostly just the usual dust and fingerprints that are probably unavoidable for GC instruments. It does, however, have a finish chip on the bottom side of the lower horn. It's not through to bare wood, but it's definitely noticeable. Even in its current state, though, the bass is stunning. Gorgeous flame maple top, killer stained birdseye neck with ebony board, and one of those original SR5 bridges. The GC website says excellent/like new condition but I think the chip downgrades it slightly.
Bottom line, the pics on the GC website do not do it justice. If I was a five string player, I would have made an offer. I was tempted to do so anyway, but managed to get out of there unscathed.
