Man, I went to Motor City Guitars here in Michigan today, and I had a little EBMM extravaganza!

The first Ball we saw was this sweet Blue Burst Morse. My friend is gassin' pretty hard for that one. I think his +aylor acoustic may become a Morse. :D I'm egging him on to buy it to add to his EBMM, which consists of a couple of JPs. I've pretty much decided that the old Morse isn't for me, but maybe, the Y2D. It looked sweet!

Then, I saw the basses. I checked out this sweet Sterling H: Honey Burst, black PG, maple fretboard, matching headstock. I didn't think I'd like the maple, but I gave it a try anyway. The neck felt so sweet as I'm sure all you Sterling aficionados know. I just never thought I'd like the maple so much. It was just gorgeous too. Played it through this Mesa monstrosity. Don't know what it's called. The bass was just fantastic. So much fun. So easy to play. Sounded great. I loved the clarity that the maple brought. Just a fabulous bass.

I also tried a CBP Bongo 5HH. Not sure if that was moonstone, or what. I love the Bongo. Man, that bass brought the thunder! I felt a bit more able to turn up the amp this time as opposed to when I tried a couple of Bongos at GC on Labor Day. Plus, it was a much nicer amp too. It's just a beast! I love it.

Last up was a natural SR with maple, black PG. Fantastic. Felt like the happy medium between the two. I loved that too.

The one that really leaped out at me today was the Sterling. Just a "sterling" example of a great instrument.

Eventually, I'm going to have to have one of each. These basses are so good! (Of course, you all knew that already.) Then, I'm going to have to get a SR5.

Sorry. No pics. No camera at the time.

I've played those basses...

I played them today as well! (and many times before ;) )

The CBP Bongo 5r has a black pearl pickguard. It is an awesome 5-string!

That Natural/Maple H/S Stingray 4 is one of the best Stingrays I've ever played. It has that Stingray tone unplugged! (The neck pickup is loose though  ).

The Sterling that you're fond of is pretty nice. It didn't have any tags on it when I was there. Maybe MCG is going to mark it down. It's been there for quite a while.

I'm hoping they'll get an HH Stingray sometime soon. I'm dying to try one...

Ah...black pearl. As you can see from my sig, I'm pretty much a 6-stringer, and my guitar has no PG. :D So, I don't really know the PG options well yet.

I suppose if I go order a bass, it'll be a 2-pickup affair. So cool having all those tones at my disposal, but if I fall in love with one with just a humbucker, well...okay. :D

Arin, I have to blame you for how much I want a HS Sterling :) I think that's going to win out over the Bongo for my choice of next bass! :p

he he... personally, I think its a badass bass. I love it!!! due to the neck on the sterling being perfect for my hands id have to say my hs sterling is my fav bass in the world. I defiinately LOVE the HH SR4 too; but man, the awesome tonal varieties in the HS Sterling + my fav. shaped neck just make the HS unbeatable in my book.
