Are you going to treat every single scratch, ding, dent like this for the next 20 years? It's part of it man. Believe ME!

Roubster + whiskey = funny!

20 years? Nah, there'll be a more serious ding at some point in the much nearer future that won't scratch out, like the dent through the finish into the wood when some clumsy oaf/drunken idiot/small child knocks guitar over and there will be nothing left to do but cry and then accept it.

These things happen. It's a bit like Buddhism - suffering happens. We make suffering worse buy clinging. Frequently, we cling to ideals. Guitar dings are a part of suffering. We make that suffering worse by clinging to ideals of a ding-free guitar. It's a useful ideal to have, it's part of how we take care of our guitars. But when we have our first ding or scratch, it's time to let go of that idea.

Of course failing that, a product recommendation from Tommy or Spud is about as good as it gets.

What if you mixed whiskey with Buddhism? Maybe there would be no suffering? Anyway, apologies for my ranting from last night. You have some great suggestions here which I would do myself if I got a scratch in my Y2D.

Hey spud. Saw that post. Amazing! My guitar isn't nearly that bad. What was it you used? Now.. I did already order a product called big bends encore scratch remover. I'm posting pictures in about 10 min as soon as I get to a computer.

I'm trying to upload a photo for the first time so if it doesn't work I apologize. Anyway, the scratches are those 5-6 dots right there. I know its not a HUGE deal I just really would like them gone and by the looks of it I have some hope of getting that gone! I'll post before and after pictures once I get the product. Thanks again everyone for your help!

I know its not the greatest picture but its very hard to pick up the scratch with my camera. Also, you can only see the scratch at a certain angle too.

Let's try to give you a heart attack :D

After 10 years of playing the saddles of the low strings are quite worn :

Or do you prefer the fretboard (this photo is old, now it's worst ...) :

The body has quite a lot of scratches and a ding ... but who cares, she plays like a goddess !

Dang... I guess it just has a vintage look now? I don't know. I couldn't imagine a JPX looking good vintage. Isn't there something you can do for the saddles? And those frets.... Dear GOD.

I too found them and was about to order that just from my own research but, someone responded to my post and I trusted their judgment and ordered what they recommended. Also, it was cheaper and I did watch a video on it and it looks pretty legit!

Check it out: Big Bend's Encore Scratch Remover guitar cleaner trick demo by Bill Baker - YouTube

Do you think this stuff is safe for a JPX finish?

Well I'm just a "weekend warrior" as a guitar tech - just a hobby to me. Tommy's (who is a pro guitar tech) recommendation I'm sure will do equally a good job?

I'd recommend smashing the side of the guitar in to the wall. Then you won't really notice the scratch any more. Sorry, I couldn't resist. :D
