Hi all, another 20 questions here..ha

ANyhow I want to get a sustainiac pickup or fernandes sustainer installed into my Silhouette standard.
Has anyone here done this? Doesnt seem like it would be too hard?

I know it doesnt work with certian pickups but their site does not mention Crunch Lab or if its ok with a single coil Cruiser etc etc.
The information on the sustainiac website is ridiculous and not very clear at all, also too much reading just to order a pickup ffs...end rant.:D

I've got a Sustainiac in one of my homemade guitars. It works fantastic, I really like it. I don't think there would be any issues with a Crunchlab or any other humbucker, but I couldn't see using it with a single coil. I'd be worried about too much feedback on the single coil. My guitar setup is Humbucker (bridge) which works with the Sustainiac, middle (stacked single coil), neck sustainiac.

It was a bit of a bugger to install and I was not the best at soldering at the time. I ended up screwing up the little circuit board but Sustainiac had great customer service and helped me out immensely. In the end I got a tech to install it.

It needs higher output bridge humbuckers to work good. The higher the output, the better the sustainer. Some Fernandes sustainer guitars look like they have single coils in the bridge but they're actually rails or stacked humbuckers.

The sustainer driver, in the neck position, has to be from the sustainer kit (I think). The older ones will cause microphonic feedback if placed up against a passive pickup. Supposedly the newer kits aren't as bad. I had to switch my neck pickup to EMG's to make this work.

I don't miss my Fernandes guitar but I do miss the sustainer. That thing was cool.
