I was just kidding....I was weaned on GK...I like their stuff, Just like the tone and looks of Ampeg. GK's are light, which is a HUGE plus...they're great for paper weights. :D :p

Okay, I'm not going to touch the "GK vs. Ampeg" thing....

I just wanted to say that, without naming names, there are 4x10s out there that will blow away the 810.

Yes, I will at least say that is possible....the 810e is a 35 year old design. Can't beat the tone, but once again, most amp/speaker manufactures model their cabinets after Ampegs basic INVENTION and design. Hard to go wrong with the original. Gallien Kruger, as I said before...was great gear back in the day...and I'm sure it has only gotten better.

Just havin some fun people...lets not all get "angry" like last time.

GK's are well built , solid running pieces of gear for sure.

side by side with an ampeg SVT, reliability withstanding, the GK is no match in pure bottom end and sonic timbre. thats just one mans opinion tho. or is it??? :p

don't get me wrong. I've played thru GK heads and liked what I heard. But it's still not an ampeg, plain and simple.

I've played through mesa boogie 400+. those , I thought, were absolute garbage. I traded that for my current SVT CL. Over the years the only reason I ever got rid of ampegs was because I had no means to move them. ounce for ounce, nothing touches an ampegs tone!

again, just one mans opinion... and we all know about opinions, don't we?? LOL

I have never cared for mesa either, all though my guitarist has a mark 4 and a single 12 that just cranks! I have always played Ampeg throught my life...It has CONSISTANT tone, where other manufactures are trying to "duplicate" that thru whatever means for their recent model. Face it, transistor tech will not emulate tube tone...not yet. And tubes will never have the "Punch" of a good s/s amp.

GK has remained consistant with his sound as Ampeg has with theirs. They are both excellent amplifiers.
