I'm still keen on this idea but something else is niggling at me. I don't see many pics of natural/rosewood stingrays on the 1nt4rw3b. Could it be a comparatively rare combination?

Not really. The heavy hitters (GC, et al) order tons of black/maple combinations, so that's what you tend to see out there in vast herds. Personally, I've had four or five natural/rosewood combinations and think yours looks fantastic, but - well, ye olde maple vs rosewood question, which to me seems like a matter of which you prefer visually.

And if it were me, I'd do the swap (if you can find someone) and never worry about the value. The real value comes from playing what you want.

I honestly don't think I'll be allowed another bass. :D

You might want to have that checked out by an addiction specialist.

Jack, that maple-necked green Stingray with the matching headstock on the left of the picture - sweet! What colour is that?

Metal Flake Green... I should have known, I have a SR5 in that colour. Mine's a rosewood though and this one, with the maple board, looks even classier.

Much to my surprise, that bass got BETTER with the rosewood neck.

But I just kind of favor rosewood, so there's that.
