So, a quick update.

I had some time to fix up the guitar for my buddy this past week. The guitar was a bit of a mess- had a mixed gauge of super heavy strings and the setup was terrible. Had to lower the bridge posts, replace a bunch of the saddle screws, intonation screws (the ones in there were so long you could barely get strings through the ferrules), etc. Wiring was terrible, pots were literally coming apart. So, got it all set up and playing beautifully.

Whoever had it before had random pickups in there, wiggling around on an uneven foam surface. Took them out and installed an Air Norton in the neck and AT-1 in the bridge, to get closer to the stock pickups. My buddy likes the look of covered pickups, so we went with all chrome (including knobs, switch tip, and trem tip).

Anyhow- she looks great and plays fantastic now! I had a bit of regret handing 'er back this morning. Here's the after shot:

I can only hope that if he ever sells it, it's to me.

Wow dude, that looks killer all chromed out. Big fan of covered humbuckers myself. I think it really makes the honey colour sing

Way to go beej! Nice work! I've got an AT-1 in my SBMM JV60 and absolutely LOVE it! Great choice!

Truthfully I've been meaning to try one for a while. But I can't take the credit, Dimarzio recommended it as the closest to the stock pickups.
