I have a question about some swirling on my SR5. I tried out those microfiber cloths on a small spot on my SR5 yesterday and they left swirling, which they're not supposed to do. :( But my question is can the swirling be buffed out? And where would I have to take it to get it buffed out? It really aggravates me cuz now everytime I look at my bass I see it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks everybody.

Have you tried taking some polish and a regular cloth (like a piece of a shirt) and tried rubbing it out?

I used a microfiber cloth once and it did that and a regular cloth got it taken care of.

I'll be careful using the buffer. I used to work for Ibanez, and used to buff guitars all the time. I was just curious if a buffer would take out the swirling? Does anyone have a definite answer?

that sucks that the cloth you pay 5bucks for can screw up your finish,
when the little yellow ebmm one that comes from free does not do that.

Meguiar's #9 works well, but you can cut through alot of finish in a hurry with a buffer. Be careful, and if you have any doubts get a pro involved.

Go to auto parts store and get Nu Finish or similar product that says safe with clear coat and rubbing soft cloth. It worked pretty good on my guitar finish:)

3M Finish Restorer at the auto shop. You can go one coarser and get the swirl remover, then go with the fine polish finish restorer. Microfiber cloth has polyester, and cotton is softer and won't scratch like polyester.

You guys are awesome, thanks for all the help. I'll go to autozone or pep boys today and try to pick one of those things up. Thanks again.

Pi$$ me off!!!! I wondered why I have swirl marks on my almost new MM, Fenders and Gibsons!!! It's those damn $8 microfibre towels that "won't scratch".
