Today, I've been toying with the idea of trading Cristalena for something else. Someone slap me! This is where I need everyone to tell me why I need to keep her and that I'm an idiot. Please!

That's just the thing, I'm considering selling it for another model bass used by Mike Herrera

StingRay > Fender

IMHO

I mean, if you think it's worth it, then go for it. Just remember that the chances of you finding another bass in that color is very very slim.

In all honesty, those vintage F*nders can be found so much more easily than your StingRay man. If you go on eBay right now you'll find a dozen or so, probably even more. Try and find a Blue sparkle StingRay. Sparkles are Hard to find, I lucked out with mine and would never ever sell them or trade them. Besides there's no way you'll get as good a tone out of a F*nder as you do out of a MM in a band setting.

The thing is, I will eventually own the other bass, but its just a matter of patience. I have no patience with money, and I'm in a big hole right now.

I am old so you won't like my advice. But when you are in a hole sit still until you climb your way out of it. Anything brash will make that hole deeper IMHO.

Good evening and welcome to the I'm Going To Off My Music Man Forum.

Hey! Bonehead! Yeah, you, man. I'm talking to YOU.

First, take a look around. Count all the Fender Forums you see.

Okay, are you done?

Now ask me if I will kick your ass from here to SLO and back.

Go ahead, ask me.

Okay, seriously, Patrick. We're all friends here, and friends don't let friends off rare Music Man basses. Friends don't let friends play Fenders.

Are you DRUNK?

Jack, I think that eloquant soliloquoy might have just tipped me off the fence, back on to the "I'm keepin' it" side. I started playing her through my amp tonight, and the tone is just unbeatable. It's divinely inspired. And that's just through a crappy Peavey Mark III. I need to get a decent amp before I start decided to ax basses.

Jack, please write a book.... or at least publish your most memorable posts into a collection available to the public.

I would never sell it, but I'm considering getting a vintage F*****. :(

I need help!

Please see my recent thread about vintage stuff. You have a pretty unique SR that is excellent shape and I know sounds awesome. You have the luxury of keeping in like new condition or "personalizing" it your self. Trading it for a vintage fen*** you may or may not (I dont know I havent seen the one your wanting to trade for) have to deal with someone elses "mojo":crusty old electronics, The occasional stripped screw holes, and jacked up finish. Ive owned a vintage fender and worked on a couple and IMHO there not all there cracked up to be. If you like crusty and beat up, (and by no means is there anything nothing wrong with that if you do) by all means go for it. But I personally would keep the SR. I think you'll be glad you did.

If you sell it, me and Tiffles will hunt you down.

See what we've threatened to do to Phatty :)
