I can't be sure having never actually seen it, but I think that Tangerine Pearl is close to a Mopar (Dodge/Chrysler for those of you unfamiliar with the term) color.

For some nice automotive Tang Pearl eye candy do a Google image search on "hemi orange."

Some of the pics make a pretty compelling case for a black pickguard on that color.

I won't post any photos here because none of 'em are EBMM-related.

I just saw that a couple of weeks ago. Looks like it's about time to start thinking about a new bass!! I agree, a black pick guard would be bad ass on that color.

The close up pictures appear a shade darker:

Music Man Albert Lee Guitar at The Perfect Guitar

Yeah, that main shot is not that appealing to me. Looks very different from the SR5 shot in another thread. Almost as if it were more pearl than orange. I suspect it's because TPB uses very bright, white lighting.

I emailed Pete D and sent him both the Al photo and that SR5 photo. He was at NAMM and saw the Tan P Bongo. He said:

"Yes I have seen the color in person and those are both terrible photos. It is an extremely vibrant color with a lot of pearl - similar to Orange FireMist only brighter and more vibrant. "

Indeed it does look very sweet. I think I've come down with Tango fever, or more specifically Tango Bongo fever! I've now ordered two Bongo 5s in tangerine pearl: a fretless Hp with black pickguard and fretted HHp with white pearloid pickguard.

I do believe, A Douglas, that you have GAS extremely badly!! BTW there is a good approximation in UK - search on Ford Focus RS (there is an orange option with black trim) - Have you decided on a pg colour yet for this bass?

I placed an order with Pete DuBaldo about two weeks ago.

tort/rosewood/non-matching.

Due, oh, sometime. Eventually. I refuse to mark the calendar.
