Off Topic TC Electronics Pedals

I use and have used a lot of TC stuff over the years...

currently I'm using a Poly Tune, Nova Delay, Chorona Chorus, wanting to pick up a Nova Reverb,

I've had the Nova System in the past and loved it...

i think they make a great product line at a reasonable price...

man, I think thats very irresponsible to stick with one vendor.

dont you guys get it? Pedals are like being PIN collectors at disney world, it only works if you keep trading, and trading, and experimenting, and selling, and drooling, and pedal GAS and trading, and...........

I agree- it's a great opportunity to get out and branch out sonically - i've been all over the map with pedals, even with a few endorsed companies but felt it was not for me...

I like some of the Strymon modulation effects but can't justify the price when i can get something very similar with my TC stuff...

my drive section i hit a lot of companies up...

Wampler, Paul C., Mojohand FX, Pedalmonsters, Xotic

my volume and wah pedal I've stuck with one company- Ernie Ball VPjr and EB Wah - they're never coming off my board

Curious about this - I have a Corona and Vortex that I just purchased a few weeks ago (along with a Boss DD20) in my loop. I have tried it in all three of my Mesa amps (Electra Dyne, Express 5:50Plus, Mini Rec) and don't hear anything odd. Perhaps its because the DD20 is buffered?

Could you all please let me know specifically what you were hearing on those pedals in a Mesa loop so I can carefully check this out carefully at home???

Thank you

I had problems with two of the 4 TC pedals that I had. HOF and Flashback were like a.m. radios at my house, sold them as fast as I could. I have the Vortex Flanger on my board right now and the Ditto Looper. No problems currently, but I've heard of plenty of people with switch problems after getting some mileage on their TC pedals. I question the durability, but I'm not hard on my gear, so so far so good.

In the loop on my Egnater Renegade 65 head, when the pedal was selected to ON, you could hear the effect of the pedal, but it was at a considerably low volume(about 3/4 of the amps volume). It also sounded like a continuous vibrato effect. This was consistent with the corona chorus and the flashback delay. We tried it in the loop of my buddy's Mesa Dual Rectifier and had the same effect.

With few gigs under it's belt, I'm really loving the delay pedal. I ended up making a custom tone print (similar EQ to the tape echo, but a little brighter and no modulation) and using that as my stock sound. I adjusted the range so that with delay time knob at minimum it gives me 130ms, perfect delay time for 50s slap back (based on Brian Setzers standard delay time on the RE-301). I just need to boost the level a touch and bang! instant quiff and tattoos! :)

And the looper function is fantastic. I'm getting way better practice in at home thanks to this thing.

I'm gonna buy a Hall of Fame reverb today. The reverb on my amp sucks so I'm really looking forward to having something nice for a change. New gear day! Wohooo! :)
