Presently, most often, I've been playing my 5-string basses. I recall the transition from 4 to 5 some years back as being pretty easy, but I was wondering, to those of you who have a Bongo 6, what it's like to play something like that.

Is there considerable greater difficulty for playing a 6-string bass after playing a 5-string for so many years? Just asking those of you who play 6-string most often. I was considering ownership sometime in the future.

I find shifting to a six isn't too hard. The hardest part for me I would have to say is reading music. Also, tighter string spacing can throw you off a bit, especially slapping if you're into that.

Just practice running the triads up and down using the 6th string and it is no trick at all.
