Tell me about your Nuts...?

No, I'm not sick...



I was just wondering about somthing I noticed on my new bongo. On the low E side there is a gap (small) inbetween the nut and the fretboard, whereas on the opposite side (G side) it appears perfectly flush. Is this something to be concerned about?

No reason for concern. That is a compensated nut that is designed to improve the intonation of the bass.

Not an issue. The nut is superglued in so the gap will have no effect.

I know exactly what you're referring to. For a bit I thought perhaps I had bumped by Bongo and didn't realise it, but that's just the way it's designed. Once again, just Ernie Ball being years ahead of us. No reason to be worried.
