The only negative I've read against EBMM is complaints about stress-cracks in some of the neck pockets of their guitars because they fit the necks in real tight *however*, having said that, I've never seen anyone say EBMM hasn't repaired a warranty issue such as this.

stress cracks are good....

I was instantly impressed by the feel and weight and on closer inspection was stunned by the quality and understated attention to detail. This was an obvious players instrument. The neck felt amazing, locking tuners and v'ed bridge saddles. the knobs and switch felt smooth and solid and the EMG's looked the business and promised tonnes of variety.
I can assure you that the Luke is an absolutely workhorse of a guitar!
It feels and plays great on stage and there are a lot of sound hidden in that instrument. In a recording situation, you will be rewarded with a very balanced tone and great intonation and you will remember why EMG pickups used to be the must-have in the L.A. recording session scene in the 1980's an 90's!
At first, it may look like just another electric guitar, but there's definitely more than meets the eye, believe me!

Then the price tag fell into view!
I realized that at this price point I could be getting a great Custom shop Les Paul or Strat.
Before I commit I would love some honest advice on this model, it's pros and cons or is there a better EBMM!
I am still a bedroom player, I love the bluesy styles, SRV etc.

In my guitarists life, I have owned quite a number of guitars, including PRS, Tom Anderson, Gibson, Ibanez, Parker, Fender... you name it.
Somehow I never owned an EBMM before I bought my Luke earlier this year. What a mistake! Could have saved me a lot of bucks if I had bought an EBMM in the first place!

I still own a Custom Shop Gibson Les Paul but actually I am thinking of selling it, because I hardly don't use it anymore. It is a great sounding guitar, but the intonation compared to my EBMM is rather poor and soundwise it is more of a one trick pony.
And quite frankly, if this would have been, say a MM Axis, I do not think this guitar would have passed the EBMM quality check at the factory, since the paint job was not done too well...

Given the price point I am now in, should I concider something else, LP, Custom Shop Fender etc.

Well, if you feel, that only those are worth to be paid these amounts of cash, then go ahead!
But if superior customer service, the sound, look and feel of a guitar, as well as the quality of craftsmanship are most important to you, then don't look elsewhere.

Considering your musical preferences, maybe you should take a look at a Silhouette Special as well!!!

Happy hunting ;)
