hey, I think you need to start your own video series Dr. Kev! Very thorough and took the "intimidation" factor out. I'd be a little nervous if I simply read the instructions but seeing it and being talked through it really helps!

One disappointment though…no accent????? You sound like an American. Being an Irishman in Paris, I expected some sort of newfangled accent. Try and work on that for the next vid eh? :)

Dr K - Now how do you know about "Blue Peter" ?

Well, back in the 70s and 80s, we had these things called 'television transmitters' and they sent moving pictures far and wide if the transmitter was on top of a mountain. And Wales has lots of mountains only 60 miles across the Irish sea from my house.

Well, that and we had a cable TV provider in Dublin that gave us BBC1, BBC2, ITV and Channel 4 in addition to the two Irish channels.

So yeah, I grew up on most of what you did too. Blue Peter, "Why don't you...?", Jackanory, Grangehill, Trumpton, Chigley, Camberwick Green, Bagpuss, Bod, Rainbow, Pipkins, Blake's Seven, Dr Who, Kenny Everett, Lenny Henry, The Two Ronnies, Dempsey and Makepeace, Juliet Bravo, Only Fools and Horses, Porridge, Open all Hours, Black Adder, Fry and Laurie, Smith and Jones, Top of the Pops, American Football on Channel 4, Dave Allen's finger, Angela Rippon's knees, Trevor McDonald's glasses, and 17 billion David Attenborough programs.

Throw in all the major American shows, and Australian and even some Canadian shows that both the Brits and the Irish re-broadcast and I think the east coast of Ireland got all the best of the English-speaking television between 1976 and 1990.

And Mario wonders why my accent is funny.

But it makes me the fully rounded and totally sane individual you see before you today.

Ummm, well, OK, maybe not.

But Augusto's guitar is fixed, and Jeff sent me a message saying one of his is now fixed too. So all is well. And I'll have lunch with fbecir and threeminutesboy next week. Cool thread! :)

We found the time to take a lunch together, and of course we drank a beer (a Japanese one !).

Kevin is on the right (sorry for the bad framing, but I'm too old for selfies and there is a "small" size gap between Kev and me). We are just in front of Kevin's house in Paris

I had a run-in with the Doctor myself this summer, over a few pints.

Do we need to start a new thread? "DrKev meets other forum people"?

Fortunately, I am a better photographer than François. (BTW, it's not really my house).

It was great to see François again and it was great to hang with Beej in Toronto too! I loved Toronto and would love to spend more time there.

Angus-Tiado, looking forward to seeing you for that beer in the new year!

Very cool guys! im going to paris this January! beers are on me, just let me know!

That's a very good idea ! (besides for visiting Paris, January is fine because there are not a lot of tourists)
With Kevin, we talked with a mix of French and English. With you, we will have to add Spanish !

So I just noticed this same problem on my JP. It's been back and forth to EBMM a couple times now and I didn't notice it when I first got it, so I'm assuming it got bumped a few times during shipping.

The real reason I'm bringing this thread back is... any torque specs for the neck bolts/screws? I'm petrified of over torquing, especially on this particular guitar. Are we talking like spark plug torque (inch-pounds) or more?

No, there is no torque specs. Way over-thinking this. :)

Look at the end of the video again. See how I have a light grip on the screwdriver? That's the torque control. See how I go around each screw twice - first just get them all snug, then a final 1/8 - 1/4 turn to tighten them up. That's all.

Just don't grab the screwdriver with your whole hand and crank down on the screws trying to get them really tight. I've seen people lay the guitar on their back and pressing their body weight onto the screwdriver and using both fists to crank it tight. That's the kind of thing that will damage something sooner or later.

Gotcha. Thanks again for the vid. I'd be too intimidated to try this myself if it wasn't for watched someone else go through the process in real-time. I'll give it a go this week.
