Deal? About right I'd say. I'd have to say that's one of the sweetest flame tops I have seen on an axis. Way to go!

Uh, so much for that...

Nope, it wasn't me that won it. Damn.

Boy, that would really suck if somebody from the forums swiped it from me...

Usually the peeps here are good about not bidding on something if they know a forumite is on it......but, if they did not know by not checking here.....not their fault. Sorry you didn't get it....it was a nice one, but there are others and they are just as nice if not better. Keep trying.

I don't know man...

For that much money, you wouldn't have been very far away from getting one new.

I've been told I'm picky, but when I read ''mint' in an auction, I'm expecting a lot. First off, the one in the auction doesn't come with the original case, no hang tags, and a pretty dirty fretboard that tells me that either a mechanic played it for a few minutes after work, or it's had some decent time put on it already. The plastic was still on the trem cover, but the other sticker with the serial number and bar code are missing.

Even the hang tag in the picture doesn't look like the ones mine have come with. (and I got 4 EBMM Axis' in 2005...the same year that one in the auction was made.)

I'd save up your money for a little while longer and just get one NEW!

Good luck!

I claim this one, but I do respect your opinion...

How good of a deal is this?

http://cgi.ebay.com/Musicman-Ernie-...oryZ2384QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I bought a SS off eBay that was being procrastinated about on a thread here, for the BIN price. Far as I know, no one from here was actually bidding on it. But even if they were, they could have chosen to pop for the BIN just as easily as I did. I don’t consider it unethical to buy something which hasn’t yet been bought. But - if I knew someone here was jonezin for it, and bidding a serious price, I’d bugger off. There’s plenty of other great MM out there on the market.

Sorry you didn’t land the Axis. Playing the eBay game is something of an art, where timing and risk are everything.

eBay is rough. You can either get a great deal. Or get nothing.

sweet top - and I don't like flames!

Axis with a floys is a great guitar - takes a bit of personalising in the setup dept.
but once you're there............. YEAH BABY
