I know we have several Texans on our forum, watch out for Rita. Anything were to happen to any of you guys would hurt me just like family, you ARE my family!

If you are in harms way pack your basses and get out! For me!

Well, Jack, Larry and myself will all be out of harms way for the most part. They say that by the time it gets to us it could still be cat 1 though. So that means lots of wind and possible power outages. Jack and I will both be with new instruments to keep us company in any event. I can't think of a better weekend to hole up with a new toy.

On other hurricane related notes, my boss was in Houston yesterday for business and had business today in Austin, so he drove in last night. He called me at 5:30 after he ate to tell me he was leaving Houston. Calls me again at 8 and tells me he is still technically in Houston, I don't think he got to Austin until midnight last night.

I had to drive down to Austin yesterday instead of flying because I couldn't get a fuggin' rental car. They had all been rented out to people from the coast. Now I got to drive back to Dallas, and I know its gonna suck once I hit downtown.

Thanks for the thoughts.
Here in East Texas we are expecting 70+ mph winds and lots of flooding(mostly due to the draught we have been in) With our area full of Katrina Victims and thousands coming from the Texas Coast we are literally out of room and the stores are really packed with people.
Several of us are opening our churches to house as many as possible.
I am going to an emergency called meeting at noon today to see what our options are.
If you believe in prayer please do so if you don't now is a good time to start.

I am off to the lake this afternoon to try and secure my house there and my ever so prized Ranger bass boat.

Yup, time to get everything out of the back yard so that the lawn chairs don't become projectiles.

Lots of rain and some wind, but we should be fine here in the DFW area.

Stock up on vodka!

I don't even think we'll feel it in the San Antonio/Austin area where I am.

I've been thru enough damn hurricanes living in Va. Don't take anything for granted.

Everybody take care of yourselves, stay smart and keep safe.

Best wishes to all in the area.

It's been really dry here in DFW too. If we get a lot of rain, it won't soak in, it will just run off and cause a lot of flooding. From the weather reports this morning, it looks like east Texas might get it a lot worse than the DFW area.

I'm from/born/raised in New Orleans, I know all too well about hurricanes. ;)

Lived 30 years there, fortunately got out before this recent mess. :p

I was supposed to go to San Antonio this weekend for a gig, but we canceled...mostly because it would have been impossible to get there!

According to the evening news it is supposed to be a category 1 when it hits us; they are now saying 75+ mph winds and 20+ inches of rain, oh well! time will tell; all is well that ends well.

From my recent return from south houston I can say there weren't enough residents securing things to keep the flying debris down at all. Not to mention the flooding that could result.

Hope all are off the roads before it gets bad there.

It's a little small for me to tell, but is it Derek?

Derek it is at the 2004 Dallas show. The reason for it being under postage stamp size is to show the basses.
Now, a little more trivia; what are the basses?
