Hey everyone, I just wanted to take a minute to give out a proper thank you to the Ernie Ball family and Pete DuBaldo of the DuBaldo Music Center.
Yesterday I received my first Ernie Ball / Musicman guitar and I must say that I couldn't be more impressed with the guitar itself or the level or service I received.
I had the opportunity to try out several John Petrucci signature series guitars last summer and fell quite in love with the sound and feel of them. Unfortunately I hadn't got to try out the seven string as none were available. I knew however, that the feature that was most important to me was the seven string piezo (a feature I had been in need for quite some time). So, going with the experience I had had with the six strings I placed my order with Pete. I knew him from the John Petrucci forum and he even hangs out here now.
Pete was top shelf the whole way along. He was quick with responses, patient with my impatience, and his communication was unparalleled. When there was a delay in production he let me know asap and even kept me updated more often than I ever expected. The whole way I felt like I had a firend in the business, even though I had never met him. It was as though someone had my back. That kind of feeling is priceless.
When it finally came time and my guitar was completed Pete was kind enough (or evil enough
) to send me pics of my guitar in the short time he had it. Then even though I expected a week or better for shipping time, it left the east coast Monday and was in my hands yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon. Simply amazing!
As for the guitar itself, this is where my gratitude to the Ernie Ball family comes in. The guitar is flawless. The finish, the action, the sound, and the feel are light years beyond what I had expected. The guitar simply oozes quality and quite frankly has a certain mojo or magic that you can't describe.
I'm not a rock star. I'm not a guitar hero. I'm just a guy who plays out every weekend and writes songs that nobody but my wife and friends will ever hear. To be treated like a rock star is an amazing feat. And that's exactly how I've felt dealing with Pete and Ernie Ball. You can't put a price on that. I've been doing this quiet litte snicker to myself since it arrived, like I've gotten away with something.
That my friends is exactly why when I purchase my next guitar I can guarantee two things. One, that it will be an Ernie Ball / Musicman. And two, that it will be from Pete DuBaldo. Thanks guys!
P.S. If one of the moderators could make sure the customer service guys get a chance to see this note, I'd really appreciate it! I'd like them to know how I feel.
And yes, as soon as I can pull myself away from it for long enough there will be pics!
