I'm going to do this in public.

BP (and the entire Ball family) has been so good to me, and sometimes I'm reticent to post about it here because I don't want anyone to think I'm trying to brag about it.

But I get it, and my real-life friends here have heard me say this more than once, I'm sure: "I get how cool this is, and I never want to take it for granted. If I seem to be on that road, beat me senseless."

Today, I found myself kind of between a rock and a hard place and was doing what I could to extricate myself.

BP called me and just fixed it with a wave of his hand, and, when I tried to thank him, he said, "Nah, shut up, this is one of the really good things about being Big Poppa."

More than a few of you have been on the receiving end of his sense of family, his kindness, his willingness to give, and I have maybe been there more than anyone else on the forum - but it does get spread around.

So Biff, don't say anything, just let me tell you this. You are one of the best friends a man could have.

For all you've done for me, I appreciate it and I love you.

Jackie

Long live, BP!!!

Seriously, I'm just a regular old Joe on the forum, and I feel like BP has done tons for me by putting this place together, inviting me to his great parties, feeding me, giving me much to drink, and keeping me in the loop. Super generous.

I too have been touched by the kindness of Mr. Ball and I'll never forget it! A class act that no one can follow! Thank you Sterling and all the rest of your family and company.

Remember I'm a lefty nobody, but you couldn't tell it by the treatment I've received here.

Thank you!

I've not ever had the chance to meet BP personally, or anyone else on the forum for that matter, but I must say that if it is true that spirit and good vibes start with one individual person and spread in all directions... BP is definitely a good example of that. In terms of all the time he spends with us on the forum, the fine folks he has working for him, the sense of community that the fruits of their labours have produced amongst us all, and the 'familial' vibe we all get from EBMM in general, it's one of the coolest things I've ever seen in my experience as a musician. You get what you give... this is a prime example. Thanks for everything that you do for us, BP!

I don't know how BP finds the time to perform all the 'random' acts of kindness, but he sure does spread the love around.

And the man also knows good food.

I love you, too, Sterling. And that's how it is.

BP is just an imaginary internet acquaintance of mine, and we don't always see eye to eye, however I know for sure that he's a fair dinkum bloke who has a heart of gold and similar taste in shirts to me. Two thumbs up from me.

Bovine...I know the feeling bro! BP, Scott, Brian and the whole EB family are wonderful people. Big Poppa has done more for me than he will ever know and I am eternally grateful for it. THANK YOU!

Jack...you are a great person who I have had some deep conversations with. You have helped me in ways you don't know. I am grateful eternally for that as well. THANK YOU JACK!

can i join the love in? :D

i think everyone of you crazy nut-jobs is an example of how random strangers can share good vibes and freindship, and ive only been here for a couple of months. BP is deity of that family.

I hope to share a few pints with some of you sooner rather than later!

I don't know him, but I wish I did. Maybe someday. Nice to know there are still good people around.

While BP, Scott, and the rest of the gang have been short blips on the radar, their actions have had an impact on most of us that hang around here. Just some of the small things that I have seen have touched people greatly... refinishing a certain Sterling Blue Dawn, tacking some one down a loaner bass, throwning a bunch of us memorable parties, and the list goes on. The simple fact that we (fourmites, knuckleheads... whatever) are treated as people and not just cash cows is nice - but the fact that we are like family (albeit some of us act like the odd alcholic cousins not no one will acknowledge) is outstanding. Maybe that is what is special with this place - there is a strange sense of family here... whatever it is - I like it and and am grateful for it. Thanks BP and everyone else.

This is indeed a special place. I've had the pleasure of meeting Jack, Larry, Paul, & Tim in person. I'd love to meet BP & the EBMM gang sometime. Maybe if I can make it to one of BP's big bashes once in a while.... :D

Well said, Jack. BP sure is a class act. And so are you, Jack. You're vital to this forum. To me it's pretty obvious that BP loves you right back, and it's not hard to understand why.

Think I've said this before (and if I have please excuse me) - I have tried to explain all of this to my guitar player. He plays a Schecter (I've been working on him) and just doesn't get it. I tell him of my experieces interacting with the entire EBMM crew and it just doesn't register with him. Honestly, I don't think I would have understood it until I Bongo'ed myself. People, I guess, get use to being treated as blind entities and it isn't until some one treats you differently that you see how it could/should be. I have had good cs experiences with other companies (GK would be one, GC beleve it or not has been real good to me, and some others) but what happens here trancends that - it is personal. Hope my ramblings make sense (I have snow brain today)

Sterling, you are definitely top drawer. You give from the heart without making a big deal about it and you seem to have a lot of fun doing it. That's something I certainly appreciate. Your kindness and generosity shine through in your family and employees too.

That being said, Jack, you're a great guy too. I feel very fortunate to know you and call you my friend. You're fun to hang with and I always walk away knowing a little more than I came in with. You are more than deserving of what has come your way. You reap what you sew and you have planted nothing but good karma.

Thanks for everything!
