First off, I'd just thought I'd say you guys we're right, I was wrong.
When I first purchased my fully loaded Teal Pearl EB/MM JP6, I was playing a LP at the time. That LP I picked from a whole bunch of LP's and decided on that particular example due to the feel and sound vs. others. I thought I had my holy grail and considered all other guitars either overpriced or lacking vs. that guitar. I thought I would never part with that guitar.
Then for whatever reason I felt the hankering for 2nd guitar. "Just as a backup, or something else to play when I'm bored - I don't think it can replace my LP". I've always wanted an Petrucci signature ever since I've first played on, but thought I was happy with the LP.
Now 1 month later, I was wrong. I can play so fast and for so long on its unfinished neck, perfectly contoured body, and light weight. I can literally coax all the tones I need and would ever need. Now when I pick up my other guitar, I almost detest it. When I pick up other overpriced models
:cough PR$::cough:
, I feel hampered by its design.
Thanks Ernie Ball. Thanks for making a guitar I can never put down, making a guitar that I am simply addicted to, and considering selling my beloved 'holy grail' for yet another Music Man.
