Our own Silverburst Rex had Pete DuBaldo send me Rex's brand new Big AL on loan for a while.

I'm going to play her at a short gig at midday.

Thanks so very much, Rex! Let me know when you're ready for her.

Yep. I'll get to it most likely tomorrow. Going on a date with my wife tonight after the midday gig.

Oh my goodness. This Big AL may be the best bass I have ever played, no b.s. For the blues gig I just did, I used the middle pickup the whole time. What a fat tone! I think my favorite is still with all buttons out and the bridge and middle pickups in series (or was it parallel?) Anyway. This thing is KILLER. Bongos and Big ALs. You need nothing else.

All buttons out IS the best tone, it's the bridge and middle pickups in series.

Check out neck and middle in parallel, that's my 2nd favorite.

I heard that Ben wanted to try one out, and I'm laid up for awhile longer...

I may be bassed-out for now. My most recent bass purchase puts me out of the market for awhile.

Maybe I can paint my toenails to match...

Kudos to Rex, again! If more people were unselfish and helpful like you, the world would be a better place.

Get well soon!
