My wife & I took a quick trip to Dallas this past weekend for the Aerosmith concert. (I would have tried hooking up with some of you Dallas forumites, but we basically drove there, went to the show, slept, & drove back home.) Lenny Kravitz opened up for Aerosmith. His bass player used a F%nder Jazz with flats for most of the set, but he switched to a P-bass with rounds for one song.

When Aerosmith came out, I was curious to see if Tom Hamilton would play a MM bass. He used his regular arsenal of Sadowskys & whatever else he plays. And damn if he didn't pull out a good ol' SR4 for one song! It looked like vintage sunburst with a black pickguard & maple fingerboard. He used it when Joe Perry sang one of the songs from his solo album.

Can't wait for Aerosmith's next tour!!

YES!! I believe that was the one he was sporting back in the day, though I'll have to fish around through old pic's to make sure.

Aerosmith is awesome!!! I remember hearing them play before they were famous. They were playing Westboro Speed way (now gone) and you could hear them like 2 miles away where I was living.

I'm pretty sure that Brad Whitford has an Axis or EVH as well. :)

Nope, no pics. :( I didn't bring my camera into the arena, although everybody else in the audience had one.

If I had the chance to talk to Tom, I'd ask him to join this forum! :D

Yeah, I noticed a couple of those EBMM "piccolo basses" on the stage; I don't remember if it was Brad or Joe or both of them who played them.
