And I'd be more than happy to send one up along with the other boatload of gear I just purchased! I went waayyyyyyyyyyyyy overboard man but it was a blast. I send the axe pic as a seperate when I get it, then the axe with the whole new rig and other three new guitars howz that? :p

In addition to this Axis I ordered here's what else I got... By the way I was looooooooooooong overdue for it.

Guitars (Brand New):
---------------------------

1.) The Axis I mentioned

2.) ESP Eclipse Standard in Vintage Cherry Honeyburst with a Premium Quilt Top, set neck, EMG 81's and Sperzels

3.) Ibanez SZ 520 Quilt Top in Honey Burst, set neck, Gibraltar Fixed Bridge, and I swapped the tuners for Sperzels, and replaced the stock pickups with the PRS Mark Tremonti Set

The Amp Rig (Brand New)
-------------------------------
Guitar signal goes into a VHT Valvulator, then out to a Line 6 POD PRO XT with complete model pack upgrades, from there the signal travels to a BBE 862i Sonic Maximizer, then it hits the mother of all power amps, a Mesa Boogie Stereo Rectifier Two One Hundred, and finally the signal feeds two Genz Benz G Flex 2/12 Cabinets. The whole ball of wax is run from a Furman Digital Power Conditioner/Monitor and is enclosed in an SKB ATA Rack Case with Shockmounts

The floor controller is the Line 6 FBX Longboard

Guitars I've Had For A While
-----------------------------------

1985 Ibanez PL1550 Pro Line which I just finished refurbishing. The body which is Ash was once bubble gum pink and now sports a Tung Oil Finish. I installed all EMG pickups into it. There's an 81 in the bridge and two SA single coils mid and neck. Each pickup has its own on off switch. The bridge is flush mounted to the body and the neck and fingerboard is one piece maple which I finished in Gun Oil and wax sealed. Graphite Nut and Schaller locking tuners.

Bastardized Kramer Baretta which I just ordered a Warmoth maple neck/fingerboard for. It will be finished just like Eddie Van Halens old 5150 guitar and outfitted with a Seymour Duncan EVH pickup. Chrome Schallers, and Chrome Floyd Rose Bridge with one volume knob.

Hamer Centura with a Duncan 59 in the bridge that is collecting dust in the closet right now.

And that my friends is the complete collection at hand.

Oops, I almost forgot, I bought a new DAW for my PC. It's the E-MU 1820m system. Thing is, how the hell do i get a hard copy of the manual. You believe one was not included? This is nuts! I have no clue how to work this thing! HELLLLLLLLLLLLP!

I just heard today from the dealer I'm ordering my Petrucci from that because of a bad load of wood all the guitars are being pushed back three weeks. I'm am so excited I can hardly wait. I know it will be great but the wait was already killing me before. Now, it's killing me three weeks worth more. Oh well, at least I'm getting a guitar from a company that actually cares about the quality of the wood. But the agony.... :(

Update for ya...

Your guitar was started this week, on Tues/Wed. :D

SSSSSSSSSSSSSSWWWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTT!

Thanks Pete, you are the man. So if all goes well that sucker should be done in approx 3 weeks right? Don't worry I won't post again if it's delayed. ;)

I have bought a metric ass load of guitars in my life and a lot of them have been new and a few were custom built but I can honestly say that I've never been this excited about any of them like I am for my Petrucci. My poor wife is so sick of hearing about it, she'll be relieved for sure.

I still remember the first time I got to try a Petrucci. I had been changing guitar companies like underwear the last few years (Carvin, ESP, Ibanez, Jackson, etc) trying to find that right feel. I liked a lot of the different brands for different things but none of them were "just right". Then last summer I tagged along with my wife to a training she had to go to in Salem, Oregon and took a day trip to every guitar shop in the yellow pages for Portland, Oregon. I had heard a lot about the Petrucci's but had never tried one. Well, I went into a GC and there in the corner being absolutely neglected was a Pearl Redburst. I picked it up and went into the loud room and hooked it into a Mesa Mk IV. Right then and there, even though the Pet had been abused and neglected it played exactly as I always wished a guitar would. The neck was perfect for me. Now mine is on it's way to being a real guitar and not an invoice.

You have made my whole week. I'm going to put my baby to bed and sleep the sleep of the victorious! :D

Your guitar body is in buffing right now, I checked this morning. I have a nice one in black (971 01 21 00) arriving next Friday if you dont want to wait the 2 extra weeks or so :p

You really shouldn't tempt me like this. You know I'm weak after the clock has drug on. However, I've been waiting like a good boy so I think I'll go ahead and wait out the extra weeks and grab my baby in Redburst.

Just so that I can torture myself all weekend, is the black one a seven string with piezo and matching headstock? :D

Not to be a raving pest or anything but are we down to a couple of weeks? Do we have an eta?

I just realized that since you're on one end of the country and Ernie Ball and I are on the other, my baby is going to spend half of it's life's first weeks on a truck. :( Be gentle with her shipping gentlemen!

Once again, Pete you have been a great help and even a friend during all of this. I have no problem recommending you to everyone I know, and have been doing so. It's one thing to order a guitar from a faceless stranger but to have a friend along the way has made this so much sweeter. With all my heart: YOU ARE THE MAN!

Now I see why OC speaks so highly of you.

By the way, I'm trying to talk my bass player into a five string Stringray. If he goes that way, you'll be the first to know! Have a sweet weekend. I actually have on off from playing! Rest well earned! :D

I might add that Chris is a pretty cool guy too. And in retrospect if I decided to keep the combo setup, that HOTPLate woulda been mine. But you had to go and mention that L6 stuff again din't ya??? ;) :D

As much as I love tubes, the Line 6 stuff just fits my needs so much better. I got the Vetta head a week ago, updated the software to Vetta II and started on my merry way. For all the flexibility in tones, I just can't do better. Plus, all the clubs I play are real small and hate having "loud" bands. They definitely didn't like cranked tube amp sound. :(

Don't sweat the Hotplate. As much stuff as I've got to throw on Ebay this weekend one more piece won't kill me. ;)

Chris,

Thanks man. I just didn't want to play the part of the cornflake on that one. You got me thinking tho. The most consistent tone I had was when I went robot a few years ago and racked a Pod Pro w/ a 2:90 (shut off the speaker models....and whoa tone!),
it sounded re-donk-ulous. When you metioned the Vetta, I went out and replaced my desktop POD 2 w/ an XT and then the wheels spun rapidly. I'm going to rack the new Carvin TS-100 (100watts of EL34 power, al tube from input to output, people are using them as audiophile tube amps too...definitely an improvement over the old T-100, that thing was to noisey) w/ an XT Pro and run it thru one or two CAE 2x12's satanding vertically on their sides. I still have some pedals to run into the front end too. Plus theres a ton of room to build on since the Pod has an FX loop in it in the case I wanted some additional stomps in the loop. Since I'm bandless right now, I'm figuring it;s the best time to go robot again since no one is depending on me having a rig to use. So...ummm....thanks!

Late!

Yes it is

Yep, Scott Ball said it should be 2 weeks or less 'till it ships. Typically it takes UPS ground 5 days to get here. Since you've been nice and waited all this time, I may send it to you faster, or, I may not :p

Thanks a bunch! I come from a "players point of view" and that's how I try to run the stores - #2 is open Sept. 1  If he decides to get a Stingray, and gets it from me, make sure he mentions your name to me, I'll take care of you --- OC knows that too!

Yep, Azia just called me and she said it's in setup right now.... I think you should wait for the one you really want :D

Right on! I debated everyday after I ordered whether I should have gone with the Pearl Redburst or the Black. Then when you got the black one in with the same options as I wanted I just about went nuts. Add to this that the wife is taking the kids and visiting relatives in Cali from Sept 9th to the 15th leaving me here all alone to play and work on catching up on all the recording I've got to do and I was very tempted to talk you into the black one.

Being in setup is cool. So I guess that means that it should ship next week right? Then with the long weekend you probably won't get it until the week of the 13th or so. Oh well, I should catch up on my clients stuff before I get too crazy with my own stuff. I've got so many backed up right now.

Thanks for the update! :D
