Hey Now,

I had the pleasure of attending NAMM this year and besides all the incredible stuff as far as the eye can see, I wanted to share this little story with everyone.

On Saturday, I was just wandering around looking at some of the equipment I never get the chance to check out in local stores and I stumbled upon the Cornford Amp booth. I was maybe fifty feet away and I see this long haired bearded cat just tearing it up and I realized that it has to be Guthrie Govan. As I get closer I come to the conclussion that it is, in fact, him.
I wander over and to my amazement, absolutely no-one is listening or watching him play. I stand about a foot and a half away from him and he just starts blowing through an incredible array of styles right in front of me. He breaks out all of these incredible licks trying to get a reaction from me, I smile and he says "Ah, I finally got you"
I'm standing there watching and talking to him for at least a half an hour before other people start realizing who is playing. I am still amazed that I was lucky enough to get basically a free one on one clinic with Guthrie Govan, one of the best guitarists I have ever heard.

Very cool. Guthrie is amazing! (and that's truly an understatement...)
Hard to believe there was nobody around...

Oh, I was speechless that no one was there as well.

Guthrie also said one of the greatest quotes I've ever heard from a musician. As I was ready to leave someone else asked him about his practice routine and he said "I don't practice, I just play. I just love music"

I though that was really cool

Dude that's awesome! Govan owns!!

Yeah he does own, he just loves to play and so many different ideas just flow out of him while he's playing. He did this one lick where the guitar literally sounded like wind chimes, it was incredible.

Oh yeah, I also was lucky enough to meet Nuno Bettencourt and get passes to the Extreme reunion concert. Nuno was just plain awesome

Just in case anyone's interested, there will be a new Extreme album coming out too
