Got that!

Enjoying your myspace tunes. Some interesting influences at work - Jimi, Sly, even some Al Green, etc. Is your drop tuning also played on your Silos?

Hola Candid! Thanks for digging the tunes! We've been calling the music we play "HeavyMetalSoul" since 1989 and yes, there are some wonderful influences in the stew! All my guitars are Silos, each tuned differently: one in B, one in C# and one in D all strung with 9-42 gauge slinkys! They're all hardtails (except for one Floyd) & SSH.:D

Drop B with Slinky 9's, never would have guessed. Couple more questions if you don't mind..

Are all your Silo p'ups stock, or did you install hotter ones?
I noticed a Marshall behind you. Is that your main amp?
Pedal Array?

Curious how you're getting such fat distortion from your Silos.

Go Foggy,

Get the video camera and do the first Dargie Solo on YouTube !! :D

LOL!!!
Maybe I can put a vid there, but it won't be of me playing! :p
Remember important factors such as "it's been 12 years since I've had an electric!"
My playing is not that bad, but it's not that good either! ;)

Foggy,

Sorry I'm late to this.. had my head buried in tax forms!

Amazing guitar.. absolutely stunning, and one hell of a first EBMM!

Congrats! I'm on my way out the door so I'll catch up later.

Hahahah! Most people trip when I tell them I tuned B to B using 9's! I don't mind answering your questions! My older Silos have stock PAF pros in the bridge and AL single coils. My newer Silos have EMG (SAVs & 85s). That Marshall you saw was a rental, THANK GOD! As far as amps go, I've been a diehard ADA MP-1 user since 1990. I've got a bunch of them, some kept stock but my main ones were modded by Trace Davis at Voodoo Amps and they are the s_ _t! Great work by great guys! As far as pedals go, I use a Lexotone + Monovibe, a Boss OC-2, a Pigtronix EP-1 and a custom made Real Mccoy wah pedal. A BBE Sonic Maximizer helps a great deal by keeping the top & bottom clean, tight and sonically right!:) Of course there's a couple of noise gates hanging around, can't forget them!:p

Congratulations, Foggy! It's been a long time coming. And she is indeed beautiful. :D

I dare say this is a momentous occasion in the history of this forum!

That would explain it. Amazing what can be synthed with racks and software these days. The EMGs make sense. I'm still amazed, though, that you can get so much power from 9's in drop tunings!

Thanks, man. Appreciate it.

Hey Candid! The tones are real! I forgot to mention two 500 watt ADA poweramps, 2 Marshall 1960 slant cabs loaded with GT 75 Celestions and 2 Mesa Cabs, loaded with Vintage 30's that cap off the gear list! No software magic conveys the girth you hear, that's the air moving through the cabs into a 421 & a 57 mic!
