You guys mark my words ... say 60 years from now, when most of us would be gone, I predict that while other brands of basses would have a) been, b) gone and c) completely forgotten, the Bongo will become the most sought after instrument which tomorrow's cats will be searching and digging like some people today are sourcing vintage PRE EB Stingray's and early PRE CBS F****r.

Sterling Ball will be hailed as the new Leo and Dudley will be considered as a God to the world of basses. I sure won't be there to see it but I know it will happen.

The Bongo is the most unsuspecting weapon in the bass world and one to rule them all.

I've owned/played the majority of the EBMM bass catalog; and while they are all solid instruments, I have to admit that the Bongo 5HH just does it for me. I honestly do not want another bass after playing it. But I would like to test drive a HS and single H Bongo...

I went down to the basement and poured half a pint of Kickapoo Joy Juice into the fuel tank of the Bongo Mind Control Ray generator last night.

I guess it had some sort of effect.....

Well I'll lay my cards on the table, I was a-b-ing all my basses last night and with the Big Al 5 being so new and fresh, with new strings and all, the Bongo sounded a bit tired, I looked at the date I fitted those strings and it was November 09, which makes them pretty ancient, so I slapped a new set on and re-compared sounds: my first impression was explicit! something along the lines of... "xxxx me!"

The Big Al 5 and the 25th Anniversary are the new "sophisticated mutli-faceted ultimate machines" period! I give you that, but the Bongo with a fresh set of #2836's had sooo much balls that had the amp speakers flapping and venting! hahaha at only half the volume!

That could be the reason why I have Bongo 5's in each Dargie scheme, a rosewood BFR, and will have a roasted maple BFR. I will buy every limited Bongo five that comes out from now on. I think you're absolutely right and it will be a blast to see the value of these in 25-30 years. That puts me in my late 70's. That also puts my 73 ricks in their 60's .

They sure enough should be - not only Bongo, Big Al, Sterling, Ray 5 but for me, most importantly, re-starting StingRay production and developing it to the level we have today - imagine where we'd be if they hadn't
