Strummer (or as I call him, Steeeeeerummah!) comes to the US every year or so, I think to get some treatment for his hair, and we often find this a good time to make deals or sell stuff or share risque photos of Greek girls living in Canada.

This year, Strummer got the heavily-equipped Blue Dawn Bongo 5 HSp I bought from Peter up in Canada and I got this:

Dargie_color.jpg

I haven't yet subjected it to the Camp Bovine Photography Session, so that's from when it still lived in Sweden. I did take it to the coWpilot gig a few weeks ago and it was wonderful.

Thanks, Strummer! It just wasn't right that I of all people was without a Dargie instrument. All better now.

Jack

Congrats ... to both of you! I'd love to have either one of those ... ok, both. BTW Jack, this smacks of one of those deals where you owned it before, then you didn't, now you do again kinda thing. Is that the case, or was it that you used to own the Envy Green Bongo that Strummer has/had? I remember seeing that there was some swaperoo like that going on with one or more basses between you freaks.

If you ever want to trade your Dargie for a 4 string version let me know - other than that all I can say is "drool!"

I'm an extremely happy camper, as I now have the piezo bridge, and boy does the bridge look cool!
Also, I now have a real knob-o-rama, 7 in all, and for some reason this new BD really talks to me in a way the Dargie never did.
I even start to appreciate the finish:)

And yes, of course it was meant to be, because jack I think it's safe to say there wouldn't have been a Dargie run at all.

Lineage nerds might want to know that this bass was originally owned by Biker4him, then by me and now Jack.
Also it is one of three in this exact configuration.

Can't wait to see jacksons own pics of the DD:)

Great photo. As it was Strummer that snapped that one, I'd like to request a shot of the other piece involved in the transaction as well :)

Blue dawn, I have to say, must be my favorite finish EB ever did. I love how the neck on the BD bongo has that burst to it, as well as sparkles. It really is something special.
