In Chicago. Went to my favorite GC...Arlington Heights Rd. No Sterlings, no Sterling5s, 1 SR5...the blue one w/ the gold hardware, 8 SRs...5 of which were Classics. Oh, and 1 SR5 Classic. I'm sad.

I personally think it's great EB are selling so many basses. The Classics aren't really my thing either but I'm happy they are keeping the company strong.

I agree. And the Classics look great. My local GC, Grand Rapids, is the same way...a few SRs, an SR5, and maybe a Sterling that's been the store for a few years. So I was looking forward to trying a Sterling5, or maybe even a Reflex or Big Al, while in Chicago. I'm not leaving until tomorrow night, so maybe I'll give the Cicero Ave. and Roosevelt Rd. stores a call in the morning and see what they have.

You missed the big al then. It was over in another area. That's the gc closE to where I work, so I go there often.

Unbelievable. Not sure how I missed it. I did a full sweep of the floor because they moved the basses since the last time I was there...even expressed my disappointment to a salesman and he didn't mention it.

I just talked to the Roosevelt Rd. and Cicero Ave. stores and asked what 5ers they had. Roosevelt Rd. has 2 Classic SR5s and a 25th. Cicero Ave. has 2 Classic SR5s and an SR5.

It also happens to be one of the lightest Alder Big Al 4's I've seen. Just under 9 lbs.
