OK, better book those flights.

Never been to the States before, is it really like it is on the TV? ;) :D

Yes, but in Texas, everything is BIGGER and more over-the-top. Personally, I'm looking forward to some Texas-sized BBQ and that Shiner Bock I keep hearing about.

I'm looking for an angle to get there

Me too. I'm 90% certain that I've got my boss convinced that we need to call on customers in Dallas that week. If not, I'll just go at my own expense. I don't think I can miss an opportunity to meet Erika. And I hear some guy named Jack will be around, too. ;)

It will suck to lose my "imaginary" friend status, though... :(

I do bleeb you've already lost it, at least for me. I seem to recall a weekend in SLO and a particularly bad airport sandwich.....but yes, for those of you who have never met Erika, I can guarantee that she is a one-of-a-kind experience.

As is Cowpilot.

You'll note that I'm not assigning "good" or "bad" status to either event.

Just....unique.

I'm planning on it....will need a vacation after School of Bass three weeks earlier...even bribed my sister to extend here stay out here longer to take care of the folk so I can make Dallas. Way too many people down that way like Chuck Moses and Ray Duke that I've never met, athough meeting Erika still kinda scares me a little.

I've already started looking up a very good friend from the Air Force I haven't seen in 28 years from Arlington...that's close right??

I hope you guys are going to raise a glass to your fellow forumites who will be with you in spirit but separated by Atlantic and Pacific oceans to name but a couple of obstacles. We will also need a full report with pictures! Have a great time. I am sure Dallas will not be the same afterwards!:)

reporter now at the Houston Chronicle...how far is that away?

About 3-4 hours away depending on how fast you drive.

I am SO looking forward to this bash not just to celebrate with J & E but to meet all of you.

I can't wait! I'm going to go ahead and book my flight. Hotel reservations will have to wait, but I don't want to miss this.

I'm thinking of flying in early on Friday, and leaving late on Sunday. With Monday off from work to recuperate. :D

I've already met Jack, the Dude, and many other forumites at the Open House last year. It will certainly be great to hang out with all of them again.

Erika I have not met. It's just a shame we have to meet her for the first time when Sterling is in attendance with his chick magnetism. We won't hold her attention for long! :D
