I really need a fretless 5, so I'm going back and forth between an SR5HH and a Bongo 5H (leaning strongly towards the Bongo).

It will be lined to get more glasses:D

I'll be playing mine at church, I don't think anyone will see the inlays. If they do, I'll just say that they're communion glasses.
Oh, yeah...I would LOVE an olive with my communion ;-) I'm honestly just kidding about the church thing, but I think I would prefer a cactus or even a chili pepper, as I have never had a martini in my life. Not that I don't ever drink...just never tried a martini...

But the color is the bomb, so I might just go for it anyway. My wife flipped out (in a good way) when she saw the color.

Yeah, and they're both going to be badass. Something tells me there are going to be a lot of them around knocking down walls.

That color would look best on a Bongo, but I'm leaning toward a Sterling HS. Hell, I dunno....I guess I'll decide when I place my order.

I agree. Unusual color for an unusual looking bass.

I've decided to go with the Bongo 5H. Now I need to decide on getting fretted or lined fretless. I need a fretless 5, but the fretted will get a lot more playing time.

I just think the Bongo will be smokin with the MOG finish, and you get the included MHS with no upcharge.

The members of your church must have Superman vision if they could make out a martini glass inlay from where they sit.

Maybe it has something to do with being Irish/Catholic but I've gotten pretty darned sloshed at Church events and would even be considered an amateur at my church. Last time I checked JC drank a good bit of wine his ownself.

I had a customer wanting one of my Dude Pit Limited Edition Lakies but he objected to my embroidered logo on the gig bag because he thought it was "inappropriate" for church.

I told him I wouldn't sell hin one.

Oh my. I guess getting a generic bag for just for church was out of the question.

For all they know the martini glass is to drink communion out of. The olive is a bonus, a little snack to tide you over till after the service. :p

Dead right! I'm sure there are plenty of forumites who play Bongos in church, and I'm yet to read any posts that the congregation have complained about the crescent inlays on the standard Bongos

Not me. While I love the color, to me, the martini glass inlays sort of limit the overall versatility aspect of the bass. For example, it might be kind of hard to play it in church ;-) If I could just have the color with a normal fretboard, I'd likely pull the trigger.

Play it After church when you all head for the Bar.?

It's kind of funny, but I DO that. Church most Sundays, and then play at the Hard Rock Cafe a couple hours later.
