I have long suspected that the guts of the TC Electronics toneprint pedals were all identical (at least for chorus, delay, flange, vibrato, and reverb) and that the only thing different was the algorithms in the DSP. Still, neat idea unless you need more than one of those effects simultaneously.

It seems only a corona toneprint can be uploaded as the 7th toneprint

I think the same.
This sort of pedal is : A/D Converter -> DSP + Software -> D/A Converter
The DSP is the same, just the software changes. But of course it's better to sell several products !

The new Digitech pedal (HARMAN) shows clearly that a digital pedal can do everything : you just need to update the software.

After that, it's just a question of marketing ...

What I do not understand with Digitech is why they link so strongly their product with the Apple products (IPhone, IPad, ICraps ...).

My dream pedal is digital pedal where you can upload your own software (in fact the product will be : the pedal + a developer SDK)

Agreed! Personally, I find it off-putting - unimaginative, lowest common denominator marketing. Imagine if EBMM called the Game Changer the "iReflex"? Darn ugly pedal, too. I usually wouldn't care but I happily repaint that before putting it on my pedal board. Could be selling point! The Paint-your-own-pedal pedal! Call it the iPaint!

A little while back TC released a beta update to the PolyTune software that now supports drop D tunings. I haven't tried it yet because a) I need to find the right size USB cable, b) I don't use drop D tunings, and c) I'm busy enough with other stuff. But I do hope they release software that allows me to include my own custom tunings, like mandolin for example! All this upgradeable firmware and custom tone pedal stuff could be very cool and useful but I can't help wondering if it'll be useful in the same way as the 150 presets in a multieffects pedal - lots of fun to play with but the 'standard' stuff works perfectly well?
