I've never ordered anything with '' the dude '' - and now after reading all this...... I'm just gonna say, THANK YOU JACK for referring me to Pete DuBaldo when I told the forum I was looking to order a bass, in January.

Jack, you probably don't even remember, but I had listed a post where I wanted to order a StingRay from somewhere OTHER than my local store, and you gave me Dubaldo's webite, and I went from there, and my bass will be here tomorrow!

Thanks to you Pete, you went above and beyond making my bass purchase a GREAT experience, thats why a link to your website is on my sig....

LOL..Nope. I couldnt' find it if I wanted to. I made the mistake, on one of the old Bigg Ballz thread, of trying to hotlink a picture of the grim reaper showing he'd soon be banned. The site the pic came from (on google images), apparently didn't like being hotlinked so the pic that actually appeared, involved a man, a sex toy machine, and his back door. It was not attractive! :D

that takes me back. I remembered the circumstances but didn't get to see the pic. Your *ahem* delicate description was enough. :D

I am new to this forum and I have frequented the Pit semi regularly for a while although I usually keep a pretty low profile. I just want to say I have no ax to grind with anyone and this whole situation is terrible and it makes me sad to even hear it. I was oblivious to anything that was going on although I was starting to think that it was strange and kind of suspicious to have customers sound off on a public forum about not getting instruments delivered. Nice too see some familiar old names again and I hope that this situation is resolved for all affected by it.

but do you remember one of your first posts here when you hotlinked to that pic? I still laugh insanely when I think about that and the circumstances surrounding it!

My God, that was funny. And it took Jon about 3.8 seconds to ban Patsy! It was truly a horrific thing, that photo was. Careful where you hotlink, boys!

I remember, and I'm glad you gave Pete the business and glad he took good care of you. We work pretty hard around here to do the right thing by each other, and Pete's always been a stand-up guy (with questionable taste in shirts).

Speaking of....

Does anyone know who took the pic of LUKE & I in the hotel lobby right after he saw my "The Lucious Times" shirt? There were a bunch of people hanging around but I think only one person snapped a pic that we posed for. I've been trying to find that pic for 6 months now. Maybe a new thread is in order? :D

This is my first post here, though a lot of you know me from BABP & The Pit. I've been in music retail for about 10 years - I started at Manny's in 1997 (and the first bass I sold was a Stingray) and opened Guitar Man in NYC in 2005. I've always wanted a Teal Stingray (I had a sunburst one in the early 90's) and being as I'm not a MM dealer, I was talking to Jack a while back about ordering one from Steve. Jack was great to deal with but then I started getting the impression that VBTC was becoming a sinking ship - I've seen enough stores fail to know the signs and I was seeing enough that I didn't want to leave a deposit - turns out going with my gut was the right thing to do. It's a shame but sometimes people have to hit bottom before they see the consequences of their actions - and some people hit bottom and still never see them.
