I'll post here too because I've been drinking too. Steve "the dude" Barr is absolutely correct when he say the TI jazz rounds are the best fretless strings. Thanks Dude!

Jack, I do concur. It's been a year and a bit of giggin' with my fretted and not quite s long with the fretless but they definitely are the dynamic duo. No matter the setting, duo, trio, full blown rock show, lounge, new, new-wave,new-age,old-age,blues,50's.... it's got 'em covered!!
BTW, I've started to bring the 'boys' to work with me just to hang out behind the counter...it's working!! :D albeit pissin' a few people off when they find out that we don't carry them (yet................. ) but atleast it really opens a good sales dialogue for the OLP stuff. and on that topic, I don't think the Tony Levin will be in the store much longer, peoples been eye ballin' it.

This is Dr Ball...I've reviewed your history and bloodwork and have decided that you have low grade bongo infection. I am going to prescribe a Single H bongo to play gour times daily....please do NOT operate heavy machinery, and dont think of going to work...Just play the single h bongo and I will schedule a follow up appt with my nurse practioner Jackie...He may require you to move up to a 2h...but we will cross the bridge when we come to it. maybe at the worst you will have to play a ihum i single for awhile....

lol, I love this forum.

Damn those things just grow on ya dont they.

i dunno if they grow on u ... i think those bastards stalk u. they hide behind mini trees, also known as bushes, watching you during your 4am smoke n stroll, then bammm they pounce and kick your ass and embed a chip in your head. if you dont find them ... they'll find you (or jack will mail you one if youre as cool as me :))

there may be no escaping them

all joking aside im stoked to get a chance to play one for a while. i am a huge sterling fan and its quite possible that they will always be my fav. but the few times ive played the Bongo i have thought "hmmm, maybe". we shall see

Well, I was apparently there and I have to say, what the HELL was I attempting?

I have to agree with Sterling, though, shockingly enough.....you non-Bongo lads need to get with the program! But go easy, perhaps the single humbucker is a good way to begin. The HH might be a bit too shocking at first.

...and why do I like being referred to as the Nurse Practicioner?

...so if the Duck doesn't fall in love with it and you want it, ah, what the hell, try it and get back to me. It sure works just fine and sounds like....well, you know what it sounds like, I bet.

Considering that I just sold a Sabre with 26 years of "love" worked into the finish, I wouldn't even consider the few dings anything more than "flesh wounds".

Doubtful that Duck won't "get it", but I'll wait on my next purchase long enough to get his reaction.

Duck ~ If I do get the LB DG, I'll reimburse you the shipping cost.

No obligation to anyone, amigos, and I'd be happy to keep that bass for the rest of my natural life. It has served me very well indeed.

I just hope that (if we actually send this thing to CA) you like it.

Your only obligation is to play the sumbitch and have fun with it. Don't even imagine you have to feel bad about sending it back! I love the silly thing.

sounds good buddy ...

by the way i think beej is gonna be around in a couple weeks on a thursday ... if that pans out we'll meet u at the jam @ the gate
Cool! Give me a heads-up; we'll meet at the POW for drinks/grub, then head over to the jam.

BTW, there was a band in there Thursday called "American Slang" that kicked serious @ss that night! Drop-D tuning on a few songs; tighter than a skeeter's @ss! Great live sound, too! No website yet.

Jack ~ No pressure selling the DG B4; just a best-case scenario I'm entertaining.:D
