i've always wanted to try a cutlass (the graphite necked stingray)...but i probably wouldn't like it because i prefer thinner, jazz style necks. a sterling with a graphite neck would do it for me...

Confession time:

I never heard of a Cutlass.

I never owned a Stingray.

I always wanted a Sabre.

I must one day own a Stingray.

I never like the way a 5 string Stingray looks.

I don't drink.

I don't smoke.

I'm obsessed with women.

I stole a radio off of a biker many years ago because it felt like bear hunting with knife.

I never stole another thing after that.

I just lied. I took some ice cream home when I drove a good humor truck but paid kharmically by having the wiper blades and antenna stolen off of my car the same day.

me too!! i wish i would've bid on it but it sold in europe (i think) and was just more than i could afford when it popped up on ebay.

aslo, my first stingray. it was black/rosewood. i found someone to trade necks with so it ended up with a fretless neck and a bartolini MMC pickup. i then traded it to someone for a black SR5 (with bart pickup) and he ended up puting a moses fretless neck on it!! he sold it eventually and now i don't know where it is but i wouldn't mind trying to buy it back if it ever pops up.

A forum only bass - only joking
:D
I would like to try a Cutlass but have heard bad things about the necks being a bit of a lottery so I am looking into a status neck for a 90s 4 string I have lying around

This is what haunts me during the day when I am at work. I know she is sitting at home calling for more playing time...... :)
Seriously though the bass that I really regret selling was a trans red fretless Sterling.....but sometimes I guess needs must.
Anyhoo the purpleray more than makes up........

Edited cos I thought I would post a shot of the back of the neck. Might be a little too small to see the detail but the weave is gorgeous.... :D
