It has been a trying past couple weeks...but i can see the light at the end of the tunnel...my accountant had good news for me this week and things are starting to turn around!

So because i was virtually guitar-less, decided to try an AXIS. I really like it. I should have bought one a long time ago! I dont think I'll be going down the EVH road again, they are just too much $$$$ when the axis give you the same sound and feel.

The only complaint i have is the fine tuners on the MM (floyd) trem are really hard to turn...is this common? i saw fine brass chavings in the body, that cant be good.

Anyway here it is....

Fine tuners shouldnt be that tight mate, try lubricating them, if there is brass shaving coming off them, maybe its some debris in there that needs cleaning out, it might strip the thread otherwise.

Nice guitar, Brent. Glad you're back in the saddle. Don't really know about the Rosewood Axis, but the ASS I tried is fantastic. I want one.

that is my only guitar now, besides my Wechter...i havent recieved the bill from my accountant yet, but judging by the amount of $$$$ he saved me his bill is gonna be HUGE!!!....as far as, did i need to sell them all, maybe not. i'll know next week......the IRS can really be scary!

but this may be a good opprotunity for me to start fresh, i realize now that the differences between the evh and the axis are so minor, i dont think i'll shell out that kind of $$$ for one again. and i'm thinking about keeping my guitar collection small now...you can only play one at a time anyway...

Good to see you with a ball again Brent. The Axis is a mighty fine axe. BTW my fine tuners on my Axis where hard to turn when I first got it (new) then they slowly got easier.

Brent,

Put some 3-in-1 home oil on the threads of the screws. My Y2D came with really hard-to-turn fine tuners, too. I put a drop of 3-in-1 on them and it helped a bit.

Its a shame, as you had some mighty fine Axes! But looks at it this way, your collection was there for you to cash in and help you, and you still can get virtually the same guitar in the form of an Axis! And maybe you wont mind if they get a bit knocked and scratched as they are more a common axe!

That's a beaut Brent, they had one around here (local GC) but a non-floyd version. Such gorgeous guitars in person, good luck with it man and hope all gets a little easier for ya.
