The JP stays in tune better than any guitar I've ever played.

I've said it before and it continues to be true. I haven't tuned my Dargie JP in at least two months. It's seen temperature changes and some serious dive bombs. Nothing shakes this thing.

mine doesn't...it stays in tune pretty decent for a nonlocking but nothing close to your testimonial :p
I saw even JP tunes his guitar in some guitar clinics, only after few licks...
I love the JP but let's be reasonable :p

I had mine for about a month and i really tried to throw it out of tune and it barely went out. I was so impressed on how well it stays in tune. Even my reflex amazes me how well it stays in tune after using the tremolo bar.

Mine won't stay in tune as well as a Floyd, but I will say the JP's trem is by far the most stable non-locking trem in the world.

And I've played every single one of them:p

Well I will say even though I do not use often it is the only guitar I keep the trem floating on and it does have the best trem ever for holding tune that does not lock. If 24 and G say it is true I believe them, but I dont think a guitar exist that I play that I dont have to tune at some point while playing. But I think you guys may be due for a string change dont ya think lol.

It stays in tune as well as any guitar that hasn't got a Floyd Rose can. Every MM I've ever owned (4) and played but not owned (3) do the same thing. They go flat a little bit on a bend and they go sharp a little bit on a dive with the bar. There is a happy balance that can be achieved with some lubricant such as Big Bends Nut Sauce, but they don't stay in tune perfectly when using the bar and using bending. The key is to set it up so that if you are slightly flat because of doing a bend find a way to wiggle the bar just a smidge and you will be good. If you are sharp from using the bar find a way to bend the strings or do some vibrato on the strings that go sharp. It isn't perfection like a floyd rose can give, or at least damn close to perfection, but the MM guitars can work with some time and know how.

Anyone that just does a huge dive bomb followed by some flutters with the whammy and then some subtle vibrato with the bar will probably not be dead on the money in tune, unless they immediately do some string bending to help fix the sharpness that the whammy seems to create. Just like anyone that does a whole bunch of bending will probably be flat unless they find a way to use the bar for something. You have to work around the subtle issues and you can then have a guitar staying in tune pretty good. If others have different experiences I'm all ears because I've seen it now on all 4 MM's that I've owned and I've seen it on MM guitars of people that I know.

And of course guitars can be set up differently and that can change things too.

I'm with the24thfret on this one. My ONLY concern before bringing my JP6 home was playing without a locking system. Played 3 different ones at the store and all 3 stayed in perfect tune. Worries were gone. No matter what I throw at it (with the exception of trying to lay the strings limp on the fretboard), it just plain stays in tune!!! No nut lube, no anything. Just keep fresh strings on it (always 10's) and stretch em out good. Take it out of the case and it's good to go! HONEST! LOVE this system!!!

There is a great DVD by Mike Casswell one of the killer players over at Licklibrary called "Tremelo Bar Techniques" that should be in every players collection. You get the full rundown by an ace pro player on all the little tricks and secrets of setting up the old 6 point,the 2 point and a Floyd trem system, you can find it on Amazon and you will never have an issue again.
