Congratulations on your son firstly and outstanding job on the Bongo, I think it looks sick without the guard, talk about one off's.
Pat is great to deal with, certainly one of the best. All the best.

Wow, that's a job well done - and you now have a one-of-a-kind instrument. I like it!

EDIT - Oh, and another vote for no pickguard. It not only looks great that way, it also makes it that much more of a one-of-a-kind.

+1 on the No-PG !

While I dig the sight of more area of finish color provided
by the absence of a PG, I would never bother with a refin
for that effect alone.

OTOH, I dig the EBMM "signature" symbolism of an oval on
the face of the bass. So ..... I'm thinking about some cool
sorta decorative-industrial screws to fill the holes and also
outline the oval with the PG removed, something chromed,
with flat oval heads maybe 1/8" or more diameter on small
shafts [sometimes called "button head" screws. Acoarst, if
I accomplish this, pix must follow.

Congrats on the lad and your new baby is cool to! lol

Not a huge bongo fan but your one is very cool, especially without the PG, gives it a very clean line which always appeals to me anyway, nice one rock on.

Awesome! I love it with and without he guard. I can't decide which I like better! Congrats on the baby boy!! .... are you going to reinstall the mutes?

Thanks! Yeah, I like both looks, too. That's why I went with the fake screws. :D

And, the mutes now live on my other Bongo. I like them more with frets than fretless.

The bass passes the taste test. :D

I have to take some pictures of the bass with the black ice pickguard from Uncle Magnus. It looks a lot cooler with the daphne blue than I thought it would.

Slightly belated congrats on both the baby and the bass.

Have to admit I LOL'd at the taste test!

if Billy would become a bassist (and I'm sure he will) it would be awesome if he'd be playing this bass.
