I did it. I bought (or rather traded for) a MusicMan and I'm finally joining the club. I recently moved back to civilization (give it up for TX!) and managed to get my hands on all of the different basses EBMM has to offer. I just loved the SR5! And I really don't even play 5 strings. This mid-90's honeyburst SR5 is coming next week.

Great SR5 you have gotten yourself. Enjoy it. Have fun here.

Don't own up to owning a Ric or a Warwick. :D

Just kidding.

Seriously that has a white pup cover. Wow. You got a keeper.

That is beautiful - consider getting a white pearloid or tort guard for that - would be even more stunning! Welcome :D

LowMoJo, is it?

You seem vaguely familiar!

Nice score on the SR5. Love the honeyburst.

And welcome to the forum. About time.

Thanks for the welcome guys. Yes, the same LowMoJo. It's funny, I've been mainly playing Pbasses for a long time and had to overcome a false perception I had about MM tone. I lived in central Maine for years with nowhere to try out EBMM stuff so that didn't help. When I needed a deeper and tighter tone I turned to jazz basses, but of course that didn't work out. Better late than never, huh?

BTW, I stopped and played a sunburst Ray after work that nearly had me picking up my second in 2 days. Played through a Markbass combo no less.

PG - I agree, white pearloid will by my first change. I love honeyburst and pearl.

Funny, cause I went through the same thing coming from F*nder to EBMM. Are yo gonna go Markbass, too? EBMM and MB are like peanut butter and chocolate. Two great tastes that taste great together.

The Markbass is not in my immediate future. I just downgraded my rig to an Ampeg B200r because I won't be playing out for a while (babies). But that won't stop me from buying more basses!

I have to admit I still love my Precisions, but that tone isn't always practical these days. No Stax cover gigs in my immediate future (man, that would be cool though).

someone mentioned something about the white pickup. Is there anything different or unusual about it?

I did the white pickup cover saying and it isn't made any more. That is a keeper and if you don't want it make sure you give me or someone that likes me a chance to take it off your hands.

That is one fine SR5 you have there.

Play the crap out of it. Enjoy every minute of it.

Your only worry should be the Bongo.

IMHO
