I haven't seen the ad yet but I understand that this months issue of guitar player has the ernie ball ad congratulating Slash and Velvet Revolver for their grammy. Also mentioned in the ad is a Slash autographed Axis SS on ebay for the CLB foundation.

Get your sniper goggles on. Bid early and bid often.

I thought he switched to USA Custom BC Rich Mockingbird...
But if you check older CLB auctions you can find AxisSS signed by Angus Young. He plays SG. I guess they just sign off on it to help CLB get more money out of it.
----EDIT---
I did a google seach on Slashe's gear: he mostly uses LP's still, he uses Mockingbirds mostly live, and he owns a couple of EBMM Silo's as well. No Axis though.

Not to go off topic, but I saw Velvet Revolver prior to coming out here and Slash swapped guitars out pretty often between Gibby's and BC Rich's......

I remember seeing this advertisement back in March or April. I checked Ebay, but nothing was up yet. Its been published a number of times. Looks like a nice guitar. I hope it raises some good money.

Slash signing a mm guitar is not an endorsement for mm guitars but rather an endorsement of the CLB. SLash has been a loyal eb string user since he was a kid. Good man.

I saw Slash play the NATIONAL ANTHEM at a Laker game (how cool is that!). His top hat was red white and blue if I remember correctly.

This was shortly after 9/11.

Hard to tell what strings he was using.

slash kicks ass ... probably my fav guitarist. hes not the fastest or most technical but when you hear a just single note you know its him.

as far as his gear ... hes got his own sig/ Les Paul and ive read that he uses Mockigbirds when he needs tones like in "You could be mine".

Slash was great to help us out. We had him sign an Axis for the CLB auction earlier in the year.

I do not believe he ever took delivery of an Axis for stage or studio use.

We will auction the Axis guitar off, maybe in about 6 weeks or so. We will post the details soon.

In the last 15 years we have sent Slash 3 Black Silhouettes. 2 were sent on 8/02/1990, black with 3 single coils and shell pickguard. In those days we had the option of a wide or narrow neck. Of course his were ordered wide to simulate the LP neck.

Here is a quote from slash circa 1992:

"I have this little Music Man guitar that Keith Richards had. I used that because it sounds great for clean stuff".

Looking over the notes from the time period it seemed Slash used the Sil in the studio, even referencing that he used the guitar on the soundtrack on TOM
Cruise's new movie. Maybe "Days of Thunder"?

In 1998 we sent him a Black Silhouette with a H-S-H configuration. Never heard he was using it live though.

MY 500th post. Does this mean I get to be a Senior member???

Yep, one of JP's personal guitars, Sapphire Black, piezo, inlays, natural heastock, back in April of '04.
Take a guess who was high bidder? ;)

I am guessing you ernie.....

Congrats D on the 500. You are starting to become one of us! How cool is that? Again, EBMM and it's Customer Service at it's best.

CLB.....I am familiar with it and would have loved to have jumped on that black Axis with the red inlays.....sweet. I believe a forumite got it which makes that even better!
