today my long lost 20th sr5 arrived, and for a while i was in heaven!
that is.. untill i open the cardboard box and see that the end of the precious limited edition case has a weird v-shape at one end.
so the farkers have dropped the case into the ground so hard the bass has broken the end of the case in two. the lid though, is in one piece.. so i open the box and it looks like there is serious damage to the clearcoat. as if the bass has been sticking out a bit where the case is broken, but the lid which isnt broken has rubbed on the bass itself.. dunno if that made any sense to ya?..?
oh well.. i call the mail company and they dont, uhm.. how do i put this in non venting terms.. give a rats ass about damages not visible from the outside of the box!
fawking cowards!! a case dont break unless you use excessive force on it.. hell.. ive seen my share of cases broken during flights, but ive never ever seen anything like this. clean snapped the shortest end in half.. any man with any wits left would understand that dropping a case so hard a flightcase breaks.. should be checked.. or reported!
oh well.. sorry for the rant.. i just needed to vent!!!!!
as for the bass.. that 20th sr5 is one evil axe.. i think it wants to rule the world! i have tried a few 5 string basses over the years, but none.. i repeat NONE that doesnt die on the low b string. either they muffle up, or just thins out (no bass, just overtones). this baby sounds nearly the same on open e and e on the b-string.. and it keeps its fatness as you creep lower and lower. also you can easily distinguish a c from a c#... i LOVE IT!!!!!!
MrM
ps: if some kind soul over at eb reads this.. could you please let me know if there is any chance of getting a new case (without buying another bass that is
