LeBron was crazy last game, i don't know what he's gonna pull off next game :D

and as much as i dislike the spurs(I'm a rockets fan), they'll win this one. Doesn't matter if detroit or cleveland wins. Well unless LeBron goes all crazy again.

NOw how come the Spurs dont get mentioned in the same breath as the Jordan Bulls or the Showtime Lakers?

unfortunately they should be but duncan isn't a flashy leader, Jordan was jordan. The bball God. Everything he did turned to gold on the court lol, and as for the Lakers, like u said "Showtime". The spurs on the other hand are led by a guy who doesn't even stare u in the face when he's doing an interview. He's a quiet, shy leader and now a days it's just not enough......in a society where we look "stray rod" and mike vicks dog fighting issues we tend to lose sight of the duncans of the sports world.....

As for the series going on now, i hope cavs and spurs. Tired of detroit.

Spurs in 6. Lebron has a few more in him.

Even a Cleveland homer, Spurs would beat the Cavs in 4-5.

I like Bruce Bowen, but LeBron wouldn't be more that slightly slowed down by Bowen.

Predictions?

I say Gibson can't pull off his Rain Man act against the Spurs defense. I also say experience counts in the finals......

Spurs in five.

Jack, what Flea is to you = what the Spurs are to me - I'm sick of the Spurs, I hope the Cavs beat em!

I am sensing a serious lack of respect for the Showtime Lakers. The 87' Lakers would have dismantled any of the teams since the new millenium. In the NBA's limelight (bad boy pistons, bird celtics, bulls, and the lake show) Magic Johnson was the most gifted team player of all time. I like the 2 time MVP Nash, but Magic would have schooled Nash, especially in the post.

Surrounded by James Worthy, Michael Cooper, Kareem Abdul Jabar, Kurt Rambis, and more, Magic and the Showtime lakers were "team bastketball" in its purest form if you ask me...

In any case...Go Spurs - Hard not to root for a dynasty. 4 times in six years right?

Either way, I really don't follow the NBA because I don't feel like they play hard until the 4th quarter and in the playoffs. NFL is the best sport followed by MLB...

Not here, Brian. I loved watching those guys. It was one of the few things my father and I could agree on - the Los Angeles Lakers. Watching them was like watching the Montana 49ers in that you might get a little tired of seeing them win, but you knew, even at the time, that you were watching history in the making.

The problem is that we humans have short memories, and the media coverage is so overwhelming compared to even 20 years ago that yesterday's achievements are inevitably downgraded to make way for today's stars. Sometimes it's understandable: Tiger Woods may have a slew of multi-million dollar endorsements and reporters covering his every move, but the guy is driven to be the greatest golfer of all time and he's in the conversation at a relatively young age for his sport. LeBron James has incredible talent, but he hasn't won anything and people are comparing him to Jordan and Magic. Greg Oden and Kevin Durant haven't even been drafted yet but they're the next anointed ones.

I respected Magic's Lakers and Bird's Celtics, but I hated them at the same time because they beat my Sixers too many times in the playoffs. I always thought Kareem was overrated, but those teams were legitimately great, and when the Sixers finally swept the Lakers in '83 it meant more because of who they beat. When the Spurs win this year, they'll deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as those teams, though they'll probably be remembered less favorably because their best player (Tim Duncan) isn't as spectacular as Bird or Magic (or Shaq or Kobe, for that matter). I lost interest in the NBA when the Bad Boy Pistons and Pat Riley's Knicks turned the game into rollerball minus the skates, but there were a bunch of really interesting and entertaining teams in the Western Conference this year.

Of course, I never pay attention to the NBA until after the NFL season though. You gotta have priorities.
