Here is the BFR Axis that I had ordered a couple of years ago. I never took delivery because of some stuff that the salesperson was doing (underhanded stuff; he is no longer in the business), ended up canceling the order. The store ended up taking delivery anyway, but sold it before I could get funds together.

This is the one that got away; I wish I could have gotten it. Will someday order another.

as much as i hate to hear stories like this i'm glad to see principal won over desire to have a great guitar. If its the same store i'm thinking of i had cash in hand to buy a silo that was stock and the salesman blew me off... I walked and found a minty one on Craigslist in the bay area for 1/2 the price... LOL

The store is one state over, in the biggest little city in the world if that tells you anything. Love the store; the owner is sketchy, and his internet sales guy had some questionable ethics.

I only buy strings at the local stores, especially after "S..p" of S..p's Music "purchased" that old lady's in the Foothills late husband's guitar collection. No ethics or compassion.

There's this place called New Jersey Guitar and Bass Center that's about a 40 minute drive from me. They're the largest EBMM dealer on the east coast apparently. They had a lot of great stuff, like a couple 20th Silos. They had one with matching headstock, trem, and quilt top, and I wish I would have jumped on it. But then again I didn't have the money at the time, and if I got that I wouldn't have gotten my JP, so I guess it all works out in the end.

Maybe I can contact them and see if they have the Axis configured in the way I want. Thanks for the info.

Was that the one with the rosewood board and amazing top? If so, where is that one available at? That guitar was gorgeous.

The one that got away is the reason I started posting on this site. I sold my Sunburst EVH serial # 80850, in 1999. I bought that guitar from NJ guitar and Bass Center in Edison, they were the first guys on the east coast to have the EVH's.I was 13 and I had my holy grail guitar. Ten Years later, I moved out on my own, was broke, and really a stupid punk kid.The frets on the guitar couldn't be dressed anymore, and I didn't have money for a refret,It was like a fretless guitar. I started gigging, and didn't wanna bring the EVH out to shows in NYC. So I posted it on Ebay and sold it to a guy named Rudy Chavez in California. I swear when I packed that guitar to ship it, it hit me. I felt like I was selling my soul, I started crying like a b$%tch. Every time I surfed the net, I would always go to EBAY, and search EVH ernie ball.I found 1 post on a random site by Mr Chavez dated 1999. I guess he sold it right away. Recently I have been OBSESSED with finding it. I've had 2 Axis Sports since but they were not the same, but recently I played an Axis, and it felt like Home. I'd buy the Axis but I'm gonna hold out a bit more to see if I can find my old Guitar. I will pay big bucks for it. Thanks for putting up with my relentless posts here on the forum guys, I hope to join the ebmm family again soon!!!
